OUR ACADEMICS

MANCHESTER X INDIA
Based in the heart of one of the most exciting cities in Europe, Manchester is also truly international – with over 19,000 international students on our campus, including c. 1500 from India.
At the bachelor’s level, Manchester is the UK’s most popular university with Indian students. The University has sought to deepen its longstanding ties to India in recent years through investment in a Delhi NCR India Office, through UKIBC, and significant seed funds for research collaboration with Ashoka, O.P.Jindal, Manipal Academy of Higher Education and Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research.
The University has developed both seed funds and joint PhDs with IIT Kharagpur and IISc Bengaluru and recently signed an MoU with BITS Pilani. Manchester academics have contributed significantly in India to improving the cure rate of childhood leukaemia, predicting changes in the monsoon, the remediation of water in the Ganges valley and the financing of rural farms.
