In partnership with Bruntwood SciTech, we are transforming The University of Manchester's former North Campus into a world-leading innovation district. Sister will form one part of our innovation ecosystem. Founded on the belief that ideas flourish where business, education, and communities come together, this will be a place for entrepreneurs, students, professionals, and families alike, where ideas grow into discoveries, technologies, and businesses that define the future.
This multipurpose city centre site will provide the specialised infrastructure needed to unlock and commercialise research and development, creating more than 10,000 new jobs over the next 10-15 years. It will serve as a hub for spinouts, startups, and R&D collaborators from across the region and the UK sat alongside multi-national businesses. All of which will benefit from co-location and easy access to inter-city and international travel links.
Renold Innovation Hub The first step in this 15-year transformative journey for the city centre, is the opening of the Renold Innovation Hub. Renold will form the cornerstone of Sister's innovation ecosystem, delivering a collaborative space for our city's entrepreneurs, SMEs, spin-outs, startups, and R&D collaborators to work together seamlessly.
Hot desking and co-working space Accessed via a tiered pricing system depending on the growth stage, our region's entrepreneurial community will have access to single hot desking through to larger co-working spaces to support them in developing their concept, R&D, demo and scale-up. As part of the Renold Innovation Hub, they'll have access to high-speed internet connectivity, breakout spaces, meeting rooms, training, mentorship, expertise in investment, funding and collaboration opportunities - with the addition of an onsite café. For organisations that have outgrown the coworking space or require a larger workspace, Renold also offers several private office suites. Event and conferencing space The modernisation of this former teaching building has created a versatile events space with flexible facilities suited for talks, workshops, conferences and more. Visiting exhibition area Renold features a variety of exhibition spaces throughout its communal areas offering opportunities to showcase your research and impact story.
