When you arrive to the Nancy Rothwell Building (South Entrance), visit the welcome desk to check in, and collect your programme. Our Student Marketing and Recruitment team will be available to help, and you’ll then be able to get some lunch and explore the exhibition area before the main talk.

Explore department stands, discover a poster presentation gallery by current University of Manchester postgraduate researchers, network with fellow prospective researchers and enjoy a free lunch. Take the opportunity to meet staff and current PhD students from your desired area of study, who will be on hand to share their experiences and answer your questions.

Just before 1pm, head to Lecture Theatre A on the first floor for our "How to apply for a PhD" talk. This session will cover all the key information you need to know about applying for a PhD – from fees and funding to entry requirements, finding a supervisor and more. There will also be a live Q&A with some of our current postgraduate researchers who will feature on the panel. This talk will also be livestreamed for anyone unable to attend in person (book here).

After the main talk, head back downstairs to the event space and help yourself to refreshments, and take another opportunity to visit the department stands and poster presentation gallery. If you want to discuss something from our main session in more detail, our dedicated admissions staff will also be there to help. Just before 3pm head to your department stand for your subject activities.

Head to your department stand to join subject talks, tours, networking sessions and more from 3pm – depending on your subject area. These sessions will be held either in the Nancy Rothwell Building or in your relevant department's building, and we will guide you from the stand. Our event will finish at 5pm, when you can head home or enjoy an evening in Manchester!
