The Department of Computer Science at The University of Manchester is one of the longest-established in the UK, with a pioneering legacy dating back to the invention of the world’s first stored-program computer here in 1948.


Our courses are shaped by our research and with input from industry experts, giving students strong theoretical and practical skills. Our facilities include state-of-the-art labs, the Kilburn Building, and the Engineering Building Makerspace, all designed to foster creativity and hands-on learning.
